A MAIL TO THE PRESIDENT
September 29, 2022
His Excellency Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
President of the Republic Of the Philippines
Malacanang Palace
Dear Mr. President,
Greetings to you Sir, I would like to introduce myself first. I am Bianca Mary Kristine Rol, one of the students of Ilocos Sur National High School. For being the new President of the Philippines, I would like to congratulate you for winning the hot election that happened last May 9. I write this letter with great respect to you in behalf of all Filipino citizens who believe in the diligent intention and desire you show in regards to the global pandemic problem that the Philippines and other nations are currently facing. I would just like to commend and express my simple, yet deepest gratitude for all of the actions and difficult decisions you have implemented and promulgated for the past few days and weeks.
It has been a long run until now, for we are already facing this battle and the enhanced community quarantine in almost 6 weeks and yet, we have seen how you perform your duty despite of the fact that a lot of Filipinos still criticize you and your ideas on how to act and resolve these pandemic problems properly. Putting myself in your own shoes, I think that there was no better person to create and perform a decision with conviction more than you. Yes it is true and we have seen that the Philippines currently undergone in an economic crisis - where still a lot of 'poorest of the poor' Filipinos are not capable of surviving for they are not reached by the social amelioration program assistance of the government. But I can see that you still work for the possible steps ahead on how to resolve this. It is not easy after all. We are not just bombarded by the health crisis, but also the grievances and complaints of people constantly asking for the support of the government.
Thank you Mr. President for showing us how to be calm amidst of the chaos. Truly, it is a sign of being a remarkable one doing the actions and ignoring the negativities for the sake of the Philippines and the fellow Filipino citizens. I know, we know and a lot of us feel the same way of being frustrated over not knowing what to do because it is not as simple as it may seem to be. You, together with the doctors, frontliners, reporters and scientists who still spend their time to discover the vaccine against the coronavirus disease, thank you so much.
I pray to God may He give you more strength and knowledge of the further steps to take for a more orderly and safer community. May all of the Filipinos realize the essence of having community quarantine and abide the social distancing measures for the sake of everyone. After which, we can now look for a better Philippines and little by little as we fight and abide all together, we can lessen the number of COVID positives and hopefully see the imminent healing for everyone who suffers. I am glad to have a chance to write for the Philippine President and to show that we all fight this battle together, and together we say, "Saint John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts, forever."
Very Truly Yours,
Bianca Rol
